After completing their four-year academic journey, the prospective graduates of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) were officially declared graduated by the Faculty of Islamic Studies.
The graduation announcement was based on the Dean's Decree of the Faculty of Islamic Studies dated September 6, 2022, which was read directly by Mr. Pradana Boy ZTF, M.A., Ph.D., the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FAI.
The graduation ceremony, held in the 6th Floor Hall of GKB 3, was attended by all prospective graduates from four study programs within the Faculty of Islamic Studies. A total of 108 students graduated from the four programs: 31 from the Islamic Education Program, 16 from the Islamic Family Law Program, 36 from the Sharia Economics Program, and 24 from the Arabic Language Education Program.
Among the prospective graduates, the Faculty’s top graduate was Annindita H.P., who achieved the highest GPA of 3.98. She is a student of the Arabic Language Education Program, with her thesis titled, "Analysis of Arabic Diglossia as Daily Communication in Kalam Learning at Markaz Arabiyah Pare, Kediri."
The event was warmly welcomed by Dr. Khozin, M.Si., the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies. He congratulated the students who were officially declared graduates and are now entitled to their Bachelor’s degree. On this occasion, he also provided important advice to the graduates.
The Dean emphasized that FAI alumni must demonstrate three core competencies after graduation: Attitude Competence, Knowledge Competence, and Skill Competence.
The first, Attitude Competence, requires FAI alumni to uphold moral responsibility in society, reflecting noble character in daily life.
Second, Knowledge Competence, involves maintaining the academic expertise cultivated during their studies by continuing to learn and preserving their academic standing as graduates.
Lastly, Skill Competence, which consists of two types of skills: technical and substantive skills.
The Dean, who previously served as the Head of the P2KK Unit, also highlighted the notable progress of the Faculty of Islamic Studies. Two journals managed by the Arabic Language Education and Sharia Economics programs have been accredited with Sinta 2, earning FAI the award for best journal management among private Islamic higher education institutions in East Java.
The graduation ceremony, farewell event, and gathering were conducted in person while adhering to health protocols. The event was attended by all faculty and program leaders and joined by all prospective graduates.
The ceremony concluded with group photos of the graduates with faculty members and leaders of FAI UMM, followed by a friendly gathering and a communal meal.
