Profile of the Study Program of Islamic Family Law

According to the Sub-Directorate, the DIKTIS Institution, the General Director of Islamic Education, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the Study Program of Islamic Family Law (HKI-UMM) is one of the best study programs majoring on Islamic family law in the level of the private universities in Indonesia.

In addition, based on the Regulation of the Council of the National University Accreditation No. 1122/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/X/2015, this program had been granted the Level A of the National Accreditation. Since July 7, 2020, due to the Regulation of the Council of the National University Accreditation No. 3804/SK/BAN-PT/AK/S/VII/2020, again, the program achieved the best rank (A).

Now, the program has struggled to become the best study program (with special field of study in Islamic Family Law) in Southeast Asia.The graduates of the program (Bachelor of Laws with specialism in Islamic law; or Double Degree of Bachelor of Laws) would have opportunities to choose their professional careers as judge, prosecutor, lawyer, legal advisor, legal consultant, mediator, journalist, analyst, researcher, academic, members of state departments and others.

The Study Program’s lecturers who have taught modules of law, Islamic law, Islamic family law, international law, international human rights law and others, they have been scholars graduated from various best universities in the world such as al-Azhar University, Cairo – Egypt; the Islamic Call College, Tripoli – Libya; International Islamic University of Islamabad, Pakistan; Malaya University, Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia; National University of Singapore (NUS) Singapura; and The Australian National University (ANU) Canberra - Australia.

In order to develop aspects of education and research, the study program has co-operations with various international institutions, such as the Department of Malay Studies, National University of Singapore (NUS) Singapura, The Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute (EUI) Florence – Italia, Australia-Indonesia Research and Advocacy Network (AIDRAN) La Trobe Law School, La Trobe University – Australia and Al-Mustafa International University, Qom – Iran.
