The Sharia Laboratory of the Islamic Family Law Program (Ahwal Syakhshiyyah), Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang held a Legal Skills Education and Training (PLKH) on June 11. The event, which took place in Rooms 502-504 on the 5th Floor of GKB II UMM, was attended by all PLKH participants from the 2017, 2018, and 2019 cohorts of the HKI program.
The event began with an opening ceremony attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Dr. Khozin, M.Si., the Head of the Islamic Family Law Program, Muhammad Arif Zuhri, Lc., M.H.I., the Head of the Sharia Laboratory, R. Tanzil Fawaiq Sayyaf, S.Sy., M.H., as well as several lecturers, instructors, and assistants from the Sharia Laboratory of the Islamic Family Law Program.
In his speech, the Dean of FAI expressed appreciation for holding PLKH in-person after two years of online sessions. He also emphasized that participants should take the event seriously, as it is aimed at equipping students with the competencies needed for the Islamic Family Law Program (Ahwal Syakhshiyyah).
The Dean remarked, "I am confident that among these students, some will become judges, both in religious courts and general courts. Apart from judges, they can also become prosecutors, advocates, and more. Therefore, the competence to create court documents must be mastered. In addition to being law enforcement officers, they should also have additional competencies, one of which can be gained through this PLKH program."
The Head of the Sharia Laboratory, Mr. Tanzil, emphasized the importance of PLKH in enhancing students' competencies and preparing them for employment. "PLKH I is designed for professional certification formation in LSP, while PLKH II and PLKH III are prepared to ensure students are ready for work, as they are connected to the industrial world," he stated.
For your information, the Legal Skills Education and Training for the Spring Semester of the 2021-2022 academic year consists of PLKH I in Halal Product Assurance, which was presented by the first speaker, Idaul Hasanah, S.Ag., M.H.I., the second speaker, Agus Supriadi, Lc., M.H.I., and R. Tanzil Fawaiq Sayyaf, S.Sy., M.H. PLKH II in the field of Waqf Management featured practitioners such as H. Arif Syaifuddin, S.Ag., S.H., M.A., the Head of the Batu District Religious Affairs Office, and Drs. Mohammad Sarif, M.Ag.
