The Islamic Family Law Student Association (HMPS HKI) once again organized its annual New Student Training (DIKMABA) event on October 19-20, 2024, with a meaningful theme: “Students as Visionary Individuals: Spreading Prophetic Values in the Modern Era.” This event was designed as a gateway for new students to understand and apply academic and prophetic values in their lives amidst the challenges of modern times.
Ramzan Rashiful Fikri, a 2023 HKI student and the chairperson of DIKMABA HKI 2024, explained the significance of this theme. “We aim to integrate academic values, which are the primary focus of students, with prophetic values. These values not only teach integrity but also remain relevant in today’s dynamic era,” he stated.
The DIKMABA HKI 2024 series was meticulously designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills to new students. While the event format did not differ much from previous years, it still offered a variety of beneficial materials.
The event opened with remarks from the Head of the Islamic Family Law Study Program, Mr. Muhammad Arif Zuhri, Lc., M.H.I. He conveyed his appreciation to both the committee and participants, expressing his hope that the event would run smoothly and offer valuable lessons for all students. He was joined by other HKI lecturers, including:
Several key sessions were included in the agenda:
The journey to execute this event was not without its challenges. Ramzan revealed that miscommunication occurred during the planning phase. “There were sudden changes in the schedule, especially for the leadership, organizational, and administrative sessions. However, through the committee's hard work, we overcame them,” he added.
One unique aspect of DIKMABA HKI 2024 was how Islamic Family Law values were embedded in every activity. Ramzan shared that professional materials were a key focus this year, building on feedback from the previous year. The goal was for new students to understand the basic principles of becoming professionals in the field of Islamic Family Law.
“We want new students to be more than just technical workers; we want them to be individuals who grasp the essence of their profession in society. That’s why professionalism material is heavily emphasized,” Ramzan explained.
As the event concluded, Ramzan expressed his high hopes for the new students who participated in DIKMABA. “We hope our new student peers have big dreams. Don’t just focus on linear career paths, but be ready to join organizations and contribute meaningfully to society,” he urged.
He also offered an inspiring message to all participants and committee members: “Everything we do must always be evaluated because evaluation is the key to better results. Never back down from challenges because stepping back is a form of betrayal.”
With the end of DIKMABA HKI 2024, it is hoped that new students will carry forward the spirit of the event’s grand theme: to become visionary individuals capable of spreading prophetic values amidst the dynamics of the modern era. This event serves not only as an orientation but also as a starting point to nurture a generation that is superior, with integrity, and ready to face future challenges. (nm)
