On Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020, the Program of Islamic Family Law (Prodi HKI) has achieved the Level A of the Study Program Accreditation. This achievement has been granted by the Higher Education National Accreditation Institution (Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi/BAN-PT). The institution has released the BAN-PT Regulation No. 6855/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/S/XI/2020. The validity of this regulation should be from November 1st of 2020 to November 1st of 2025.
The program has attempted to develop its quality, primarily in terms of human resources, curriculum, facilities and also academic standards. Accordingly, it has dealt with the process of re-accreditation to get "the great level" (Unggul).
The next level of accreditation is essential to ensure that the program has been adaptable at facing the current challenging realities. This level is important to show that the institution has transformed itself. As a consequence, this level leads to some shorts of new criteria that need to be filled by the program.
In general, the new criteria emphasised by the BAN-PT covers the formula that is suitable with the Technological Revolution 4.0. It suggests that the great human resources should solidly engage with the great critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration. It is, indeed, something that is not new for the academics to deal with. In another word, it is part of the usual business of the university (education, research and social service).[HB]
