On Friday, June 3, 2022, the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS) of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a socialization event for the Faculty's Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies. The event took place in the GKB III Auditorium on the 6th floor and was attended by all active students of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, both in person and online.

Approximately 500 students from the 2020 and 2021 cohorts attended in person, while students from the 2019, 2018, and 2017 cohorts participated online via Zoom.

This socialization was the first event to include a significant number of in-person participants, as the COVID-19 situation has improved and the university's protocol office granted permission. As a result, the event was successfully held while still adhering to health protocols.

The socialization of the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies (VMTS) is a mandatory agenda that must be carried out in accordance with the guidelines and standards outlined in the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) for educational administration.

The event was organized as part of the planned activities in the Strategic Plan (Renstra), Operational Plan (Renop), and the UPPS Work Plan (KAK). To meet Key Indicator 1.2, which involves the structured socialization of the VMTS, the goals of the event included: 1) publishing the VMTS on the institution's website, 2) utilizing other media to make it easily accessible to internal and external stakeholders, and 3) conducting the socialization periodically, once a year.

In addition to the VMTS socialization, the Faculty's Dean, as the UPPS, also provided academic guidance and emphasized the importance of academic culture at the Faculty of Islamic Studies. It was noted that the distinct characteristics and identity of FAI must be embraced by all students, especially those from the 2020 and 2021 cohorts, who are considered the "Corona Generation" and may not have had the opportunity to fully experience the FAI academic culture.

The socialization event also included a motivational element, with the committee giving away door prizes to students who attended, both in person and online.
