On Tuesday, October 6 of 2020, at 08:00 - 11:00 AM (Jakarta), one of the best Program of HKI UMM's lecturers, Syamsurizal Yazid has been successful indefending his dissertation (online) in the field of Quranic Studies and Exegesis, in the State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel (UIN) Surabaya.  

Several years ago, after he graduated from the Modern Islamic Boarding School of Darussalam Gontor, he had studied at the State Institute of Islamic Studies IAIN) Sunan Ampel Malang. From this place, he earned his LLB. And then, he moved to the International Islamic University of Islamabad (IIUI) Pakistan for getting his MA of Islamic law. Currently, he has achieved his PhD with specialisation in "Legal interpretation of the Qur'an."

According to Arif Zuhri, the Head of the Program of HKI UMM, "Due to his doctoral qualification, Syamsurizal, will be the influential figure who will help us to build the academic progress of our institution. I am sure with his important roles in education, research and social development. Accordingly, we do hope that he will contribute to the HKI programs which primarily aim to produce the best young generations of the nation."
