To support the sustainability of UMM’s PASTI program and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative, UMM has established a system to ensure the growth and development of graduates who can respond effectively to the demands of the business and industrial world (IDUKA). One of the key policies of MBKM is facilitating students’ right to study outside their program for up to three semesters.
Under this scheme, students are encouraged to undertake at least four key activities:
a) autonomously determine their learning experiences,
b) think and act across disciplines (interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary),
c) develop hard and soft skills, and
d) enhance their learning experiences outside the classroom.
With these approaches, university graduates are better prepared to face the realities and challenges in the fields of science, IDUKA, and societal dynamics.
Based on this framework, the Islamic Family Law Program at UMM’s Faculty of Islamic Studies responds by offering an excellent program called the Center of Excellence (CoE): Corporate Law School. This program equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to produce graduates who are superior and competent in providing legal services to companies, both in theory and practice. Through this program, students or participants are trained to draft, design, manage legal documents, and resolve legal issues faced by companies. The program is designed to bring students closer to the working world, with a learning model that combines theory with fieldwork practice, guided by internal lecturers and practitioners. Furthermore, participants of the CoE program are expected to be recruited and employed before graduation.
The CLS program is a flagship initiative mentored directly by professionals from the Business and Industrial World, particularly from PERADI Malang. These experts and practitioners are experienced in handling major cases in the field of corporate law.
The CLS program covers a range of topics, including Corporate Law, Contract and Agreement Law, Contract Drafting, Law of Employment, Management of Legal Documents, and Corporate Lawyer training.
This CLS program is open not only to students from the Law and Islamic Family Law programs but also to students from other disciplines and company staff interested in mastering corporate law skills.
