The Syariah Laboratory of the Islamic Family Law Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Religion, held a preparation session for the Professional Work Practice (PKP) for the Even Semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year. The event, which took place on August 6, was opened by the Head of the Islamic Family Law Study Program, Mr. Muhammad Arif Zuhri, M.H.I., and attended by around 20 students participating in the professional internship.

In his speech, the Head of the Study Program encouraged participants to pay attention to their attitude and maintain the good name of UMM. Moreover, during the internship, Mr. Arif, as he is called, emphasized that the Professional Work Practice is a professional work experience, so students are expected to behave professionally in the workplace.

He also added, “The Professional Work Practice should not just be seen as fulfilling a requirement, but as an opportunity or stepping stone to find a job upon graduation. This way, students can be employed directly according to their competencies and learning outcomes from the program,” he concluded.

In the next session, the Head of the Syariah Laboratory, Mr. R. Tanzil Fawaiq Sayyaf, M.H., provided technical training on the Professional Work Practice and reporting. “All reports for the Professional Work Practice, whether it’s the logbook, narrative reports, or activities, should be submitted through the Simlabsya system. Students just need to click, type, and upload their reports. This system is integrated with the Field Supervisor and the Syariah Laboratory staff,” he explained.

The event continued with a Q&A session from students and further explanations on the technical procedures of the Professional Work Practice. During this period, students are placed in various institutions such as Religious Courts, District Courts, Law Offices, and other legal institutions across Indonesia. (ika)
