The Islamic Family Law Study Program held a workshop on the development of RPS (Rencana Pembelajaran Semester) and Assessment Rubrics based on OBE (Outcome-Based Education), which took place on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Faculty of Islamic Studies Meeting Room. The event invited Dr. Mohammad Saifuddin, MM, the Head of the Learning Innovation Institute at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, as the keynote speaker.

The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FAI UMM, Pradana Boy ZTF, Ph.D., and was attended by all faculty members of the Islamic Family Law Study Program, FAI UMM, including the Head of the HKI Study Program M. Arif Zuhri, Lc., M.H.I., and the Secretary of the program, Soni Zakaria, S.Sy., M.H., who served as the event moderator. The speaker discussed the importance of OBE-based RPS and MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka), including their relevance to accreditation preparation. This event focused on developing the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) as the initial step in planning an effective and innovative learning process.

"The learning outcomes refer to the RPS and its implementation in the teaching and learning process, ensuring that the learning process can keep up with the rapidly advancing technology. The RPS includes explanations about the integration of scientific knowledge, research, and community service into learning, which can guide students to become productive and create something applicable according to the material in the RPS," explained Saifuddin.

Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is an educational process centered around outcomes, not just the material that must be covered. OBE measures learning outcomes and allows students to develop new innovations that prepare human resources at the global level. OBE emphasizes the continuity of the learning process in an innovative, interactive, and effective manner.

Meanwhile, the Kampus Merdeka program is part of the Merdeka Belajar policy by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. It provides opportunities for students to hone their skills according to their talents and interests by directly participating in the workforce as preparation for their future prospects. OBE and MBKM will influence the entire educational process, from curriculum design, formulation of objectives and learning outcomes, educational strategies, teaching methods, assessment procedures, to the learning environment.

The event concluded with a Q&A discussion on the learning outcomes of the study program and the assessment rubrics. Subsequently, the preparation of the RPS documents for the courses in the HKI Study Program was conducted. It is hoped that this activity will contribute to the improvement of the quality of the learning process in the HKI Study Program, FAI-UMM. (LA)
